HILO (AP) — Staff members from the U.S. Geological Survey’s Hawaiian Volcano Observatory are settling into another temporary office in Hilo, their third move since the Kilauea volcano eruption forced the evacuation of their headquarters in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The Hawaii Tribune-Herald reported Friday that Tina Neal, Hawaiian Volcano Observatory’s chief scientist, says the relocation should be complete by the end of the month and she expects no glitches in their monitoring of active volcanos.

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) — The Boise National Forest says they have closed Bull Trout Campground at Bull Trout Lake and the surrounding area northwest of Stanley after multiple bear sightings in the last couple weeks. The Forest Service says bears have a great sense of smell and can find food from great distances. And once they find an area with food they are likely to keep returning. Officials say bears that associate food with humans could pose a threat to both the bear and people.
